THINK INNOVATION, THINK GEN Z
We have had a series of conversations around Gen Z and innovation. Some people believe that as long as they remain innovative their organization will be fine. Absolutely true! After asking what they mean by being innovative, the responses can be summed into two major groups.
The ones who belong to the school of thought that innovation is about developing and producing commercially viable new products and services.
The ones who believe it is about responding to the changes in the environment.
Now, here’s the truth. Both are correct perspectives, they just may not be as relevant anymore. Innovation has since gone beyond those two schools of thought.
Innovation is the ability to FORESEE the changes ahead and to create the atmosphere, system and structure that helps your organization own the future and drive the narrative. Bill Gate once said “I saw the future and I said I will get there before everybody else” and he did.
Being innovative is understanding the key driver(s) of the future. What will drive the economy, consumption, product and service development, technology…? The one single driver is Gen Z!
For the first time in the history of the world Gen Z overtook millennial last year comprising 32% of the global population and will make up 24% of the global workforce this year.
The implication? The future is upon us.
The question? Are you ready for Gen Z? Is your organization ready?
